Father, you have taught the ministers of your Church

not to desire that they be served

but to serve their brothers and sisters.

Under your watchful care

and through the power of your most Holy Spirit,

may our priests be effective in their work

and persevering in their prayer, sharing in the ministry

and concern of Christ, Our High Priest and Good Shepherd,

showing gentleness and concern for others.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

Prayer for Our Parish.

Father, you call us to be brothers and sister through the gift of Baptism,

Help us to build up in this place a family centred on the love of Jesus in the Eucharist.

May all who come here grow in faith,

be given hope in living the gospel

and go out in your love to serve our neighbours.

We make this prayer in the name of Jesus the Lord.
